Work-Life Balance

Possibly the most common question I come across: How to get the balance right?

When I speak on this matter, I focus on how to:

  • Increase the overall quality of life.

  • Considering the best way to find harmony between responsibilities and life.

  • Looking for the best way to optimise those key areas of life, which always changes depending on individual circumstances.

Workplace (Personal) Relationships

Every relationship is personal on some level - including those at work. As we spend so much time at work, it is important to try establish (and maintain) those relationships. I generally focus on the following topics when I speak on this theme:

  • Leadership styles.

  • Conflict and communication at work.

  • Overall workplace and team dynamics.

Sexuality & GSRD

Many organisations are realising the benefits of an inclusive workplace. Gender, Sex and Relationships Diversity (GSRD), along with a great general awareness on sexuality, are two topics that I often get asked to speak about. When I do, I focus on:

  • Increasing understanding on sexuality generally.

  • What steps an organisation can take to foster a GSRD inclusive environment.

Intersectionality & Culture

With a world that is evermore connected and intertwined, comes an interaction between cultures and identities. The impact this can have on both an individual and a team make this a common topic organisations request me to discuss. When that’s the case, I include:

  • How to navigate cultural differences in the office.

  • What intersectionality is and how it impacts people.

  • The power of perspective (especially when it comes to multiple forms of inequality combining).

Every individual is different = every team is different = every talk is tailored to the company’s needs.

Thorbjorg Helga “Tobba” - CEO Kara Connect

“I thought every workplace should be required to deliver this talk for their teams and ensure that there is room for questions and answers.

I was thoroughly happy with the workshop. I learned a lot of new things to share to my team and in fact shared a lot from the talk. I really think many people are not aware of how bad the situation is and how many people still struggle with their identity”
